Small displacement V8s are cool, though. We need more of them. But less V8 badges on I6 cars.

But could it possibly be a 400 with a 300 badge?

UGHHHH so lazy!

Possibly, but:

Maybe they couldn’t find a 400 badge? Idk why I’m trying to back this up...

Couldn't even take the other badge off.

I want the smallest displacement I6...where can get those?!
![]() 04/21/2016 at 17:47 |

Nissan? 2.5 RB inline 6 IIRC.

Really clean example though. So good in gold.

Well for a 2.5, BMW would have the better engine. I know BMW also had some 2.0 I6 in their E30 but I don’t think we even got those, AND they made terrible power and didn’t even have a high redline.
I really want my next car to have a free-revving I6 but that’s impossible to find for US.

Clearly this has an engine from a Ferrari 308 installed in it...

Actually The Skyline R32 GTS-T had an RB20 which was a turbocharged 2.0L I6

I think we got a BMW 2.3 in the e21 in the early 80's but they are pretty rare
![]() 04/21/2016 at 17:59 |

=/ yeah, looks like I’ll have to settle for a 2.5L, but then the stroked 3.0L retains the same redline and makes way more power. What’s the point BMW!?

There was also a Nissan RB20 in japan. Came several forms from a base N/A SOHC all the way up to DOHC turbo.

You can bump the redline on the stock motor quite a bit further than the stroked 3.0

Way too expensive and the maintenance on that gem of an engine is hell.

Like I thought, not available in ‘Murica.

Clearly. “Your Lexus too reliable? Well boy do I have a Ferrari engine for you. It even makes less horse power!”
![]() 04/21/2016 at 18:26 |

It isn’t even a Lexus emblem, it’s from a facelifted (‘97-’98) ZJ Grand Cherokee Limited. If they washed their dirty-ass car once in a while, the shiny gold-chrome-plated emblems wouldn’t match the satin gold V8 one.

Ha, that makes it even better.

Nissan RB20 from the lower model Skylines is a 2.0, Toyota 1JZ is a 2.5, and they made a 1G 2.0 turbo in Japan as well.
